Another very special (K)Night at the Preceptory of Croydon No 196

It was going to be another very special evening as members of the Preceptory of Croydon and their guests gathered together once again, this time to install a father and son into the Ancient and Masonic Order of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta.

Another very special (K)Night at the Preceptory of Croydon No 196 The Preceptory was first opened in due form with the Eminent Preceptor greeted with loud acclaim and the usual business of the Preceptory was despatched with haste as the Knights eagerly awaited the Malta Ceremony which was to follow. A Priory of Knights of Malta was then opened and a vote was taken which proved favourable to both candidates.

The Degree of Knight of St. Paul was confirmed on the two candidates by E.Comp. Chris Eley, Provincial Mareschal assisted by the Preceptory Chaplain E.Kt. Olu Richards and the Preceptory Mareschal, E.Kt. Tim Ford. Knight Alex Lees (the son) was admitted first into the Chapter House, passed the Banners and obligated. The Eminent Prior, E.Kt. Brian Hunter then made Kt. Alex Lees a Knight of the Ancient and Masonic Order of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta and entrusted him Grand Word and Sign of the Order. Kt. Alex then took a seat in the Priory to watch his father’s ceremony. The address was then given to both Knights by the Eminent Prior and his officers on the Pentagonal Table.

The Knights then closed the Priory in peace and harmony and dined together in fraternal union, toasting the health and happiness of their two newly installed Knights of Malta.
