A Full Team visit to Sacryham Preceptory

In April, Sacryham Preceptory No 425 were pleased to receive the Provincial Prior of Surrey, R.E. Knight Michael Banbury, along with the Provincial Sub Prior, V.E. Knight Patrick Crossan, and many Provincial Officers of the year and members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard. The Temple at Croydon was very full that day for the last Full Team Visit of our Provincial Prior before his retirement.

After the Preceptory was opened the Provincial Marshal, E.Kt. Chris Eley, entered and advised the Eminent Preceptor, E.Kt. Steve Jones that the R.E. Knight Michael J Banbury, Provincial Prior of Surrey, along with a number of Provincial Officers of the year, was in the ante-room and demanded admission to the Preceptory. The Provincial Prior of Surrey entered and was greeted by the Eminent Preceptor. The Provincial Prior was then saluted with 7 after which he greeted everyone and took the muster roll and the minutes.

A Ballot was taken for Comp. Neil Crudgington, which proved in his favour. Comp Crudgington was admitted and Installed as a Knight of the Order of the Temple by the Eminent Preceptor and his Officers in an excellent manner.

The Eminent Preceptor invited the Provincial Sub Prior, VE.Kt. Pat Crossan, to present a Great Priory Certificate to Knight K Norris, which was done in his very special way. The Knights then closed the Preceptory in peace and harmony and the Knights of Sacryham Preceptory and their guests dined together in fraternal union at the Croydon Masonic Centre, toasting the health and happiness of their newly installed Knight.

During the Festive Board E.Kt. Glyn Harvey presented the Provincial Prior with a gift of a book from the members of Sacryham Preceptory to mark his retirement. The Provincial Prior also presented representatives of St. Catherine’s, St Saviour’s and Sacryham Preceptories with Annual Fundraising Certificates from the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group.
