Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard at the Craft Amalgamation Meeting

On Friday the 23rd September at the Masonic Hall, Croydon, the Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro. Ian Chandler, presided over the Amalgamation of Oakfield Lodge No 7011 and Comet Lodge No 7710. The new Lodge to be named Oakfield Comet Lodge No 7710.

After the Lodge was opened the Provincial Grand Master for Surrey and Amalgamating Officer RW Bro Ian Chandler was received. After appointing his Officers he addressed the Brethren on the purpose of the meeting and the Provincial Grand Secretary read the Certificate of Amalgamation.

An Oration was given by the Provincial Grand Chaplain on the Oakfield and Comet Lodges’ history and the intended Amalgamation. The Brethren of Oakfield and Comet Lodges were arranged around the Mosaic Pavement while the Consecrating Officer spread Salt, the symbol of Friendship and Fidelity.

The RW Provincial Grand Master then delivered the Lodge Warrants, Certificate of Amalgamation and By-Laws to the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Neil Bonter.

The Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW. Bro. Derek Barr, MBE, declared W.Bro. Neil Bonter, PProvJGD, PProvGStwd, Worshipful Master of the Oakfield Comet Lodge.

There to support Neil were members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard and the Provincial Marshal.
