Provincial Priory of Malta Meeting

In September 2017 the Provincial Priory of Malta meeting was held at the Surbiton Masonic Hall following the meeting of Emmaus Preceptory No 446.

The afternoon began with a meeting of Emmaus Preceptory. The Eminent Preceptor this year was E.Kt. J Thompson, PProv1stCon. E.Kt. Ernie Wannacott was elected an Honorary member of the Preceptory in recognition for all he has done over many years to support the Preceptory.

The Preceptory was then closed and the Temple prepared for a meeting of Knights of Malta. The Provincial Prior, Provincial Sub Prior and Provincial Officers entered the Temple and took their places at the Pentagonal and Octagonal Tables. The Provincial Prior invited the Provincial Sub Prior to open a meeting of the Provincial Priory of Knights of Malta.

Provincial Priory of Malta MeetingVE.Kt. Chris Cradock, Provincial Sub Prior, conducted the Ceremony of installation and Knight. George Mace of St Michael at Bisley Preceptory was admitted a member of the Order by the Eminent Sub Prior and the Officers of Provincial Priory, ably assisted with the banners by the members of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard.

Following the ceremony, the Provincial Malta Officers of the year 2017 – 2018 were appointed and invested by the Provincial Prior following which the Provincial Prior addressed the Knights present. The Provincial Prior was then presented with a framed photograph taken at the Provincial Prior’s BBQ by E.Kt. Jim Smith.

The RE. Provincial Prior, the Provincial Sub Prior and the Officers of the Pentagonal and Octagonal Tables retired in procession under the direction of the Provincial Marshal.

Afterwards the Knights of Emmaus Preceptory and their many guests dined together in the Elizabethan Suite at the Surbiton Masonic Hall where the Provincial Prior congratulated E.Kt. Harry Beal on his 90th birthday.
